Violent ‘Hammer gang’ Antifa group leader receives 5-year prison sentence, supporters riot in numerous German cities and promise ‘Day X’ as revenge

The leader of the group was sentenced to five years and three months

A Dresden court delivered on Wednesday the verdict in the trial of the leader of the Hammerbande, a violent far-left Antifa group known for attacking right-wing activists as well as random innocents with hammers. The judge sentenced Lina Engel to five years and three months in prison, while three of her associates received lesser sentences.

Four members of the Hammerbande (German for “Hammer gang”), which were also involved in the beatings of numerous individuals in Budapest, Hungary, as well as attacks across Germany, have been convicted in a mammoth trial before a Saxon regional court in Dresden, after 97 days of evidence, according to Hungarian news outlet Magyar Nemzet.

There are 13 known victims of the Antifa gang in Germany, including former NPD member Enrico B. in Leipzig, who suffered fractured kneecaps and kicks to the head in 2018; right-wing activist Cederic S., who suffered severe spine fractures that nearly took his life; and Leon R., the owner of a far-right bar, who was attacked with bats along with other individuals inside the bar.

Judge Hans Schlueter-Staats handed down the verdict against the four far-left defendants for being members of a criminal organization, Bild reports.

Germany to shut down Russian consulates in tit-for-tat move, Moscow fumes

By Andreas Rinke and Alexander Ratz
May 31, 2023 7:39 PM GMT+2

BERLIN, May 31 (Reuters) - Germany said on Wednesday it would shut down four out of five Russian consulates by revoking their licences, a tit-for-tat move after Moscow's decision to limit the number of German officials in Russia to 350.

The move represents a sharp downgrading of bilateral ties amid a wider collapse in relations since Russia's invasion of Ukraine early last year.

Russia denounced the proposed closures as ill-conceived and provocative and said it would respond.

Germany: Critics of Pride Month launch their own Pride Month with German flag instead of the rainbow flag, becomes no. 1 trend on Twitter in Germany

“Black, red and gold is colorful enough”

editor: REMIX NEWS author: JUNGE FREIHEIT

The hashtag “#StolzMonat” or “Pride Month” in German was trending on Twitter yesterday, garnering over 50,000 tweets. However, it was not a celebration of June’s LGBT Pride Month but instead a critique of it, with German conservatives and anti-woke activists substituting the rainbow flag with the German flag.

The hashtag ranked first in Twitter’s trending section at one point yesterday, highlighting the growing culture war in Germany. It was picked up in other countries as well.
https://rmx.news/germany/germany-cri...er-in-germany/

It's good that they oppose the degenerate (((AIDS Pride Month))), but I wish they would use one of the real German flags instead of the jewish Weimar one which was once again imposed on the German people after they lost WWII (although I guess displaying an actual German flag would be illegal).

As always, remember: globohomo comes from Shlomo.

Germany: From helmets to tanks, the Greens’ road to militarism

German military aid to Ukraine went from non-lethal to state-of-the-art battle tanks within the space of a year

(AP Photo/Mindaugas Kulbis)

The German traffic light coalition’s military policy of not delivering lethal weapons to third parties transformed spectacularly into all-out support for Ukraine with artillery pieces, tanks, and infantry fighting vehicles within a matter of months, an analysis in the Hungarian Mandiner newspaper noted.

Before the outbreak of the war, Germany had refused to supply Ukraine with German-made military equipment in every possible way. Then, former German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced that Germany would provide the Ukrainian army with 5,000 assault helmets, an offer met with both anger and ridicule among Ukrainian government officials.

In addition to helmets, the provision of sleeping bags, field hospitals, and other military equipment was later announced, but the possibility of sending weapons was ruled out.

“There are, of course, reasons for this, based on the events of recent years and decades,” said Social Democrat Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

But then, Berlin’s position gradually changed as pressure from the German arms lobby and from the U.S. and Poland increased. Scholz nevertheless tried to persevere, initially seeking to supply “only defensive weapons” to the Ukrainian army.
(...)
Since the outbreak of the war, the divisions between the parties of the “traffic light” coalition have become increasingly evident. The main fault line is between the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Greens (Die Grüne), the former seeking to pursue a much more prudent policy towards Russia
and the Greens remaining fully committed to supporting Ukraine.

Scholz branded ‘warmonger’ at rally held by his own party

The German Chancellor was booed and heckled over his Ukraine policy

German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, received an icy welcome at a ‘European Festival’ organized by his own Social Democratic Party (SPD) on Friday. Scholz was booed and whistled at as he sought to address a festival held in the town of Falkensee, in the German state of Brandenburg, near Berlin.

Footage published by the Ruptly video agency shows event attendees criticizing Scholz for being a "people’s traitor" and a "warmonger." Few supporters are seen cheering for the chancellor. A group was also heard shouting "liar" and "bandit" while demanding "peace without weapons" and urging Scholz to "go away."

According to the German tabloid Bild, some of the chancellor’s critics are associated with the country's right-wing scene and were wearing clothes bearing symbols of Russia and the anti-vaccination movement.

Lesbian-only retirement apartment building approved with subsidized rent in Berlin city center

June 06, 2023
editor: REMIX NEWS author: THOMAS BROOKE

The 72-room apartment building will be exclusively reserved for lesbian or bisexual senior citizens.

A housing association in Berlin has announced it will soon begin construction on a social housing project in the heart of the city exclusively for female senior citizens who identify as lesbian or bisexual.
(...)
The project is a collaboration between Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Berlin-Mitte (WBM) state-owned housing association and the Rad und Tat (RuT) lesbian initiative, which will open an office in the new complex.

Residential units will be available to senior homosexual females only at a subsidized rate to allow “lesbians and queer women to lead a good life and enjoy their old age in a non-discriminatory and neighborly environment,” according to a WBM press release.

Subsidized rents will start from just €6.90 per square meter, considerably less than the average rent in the central area of Berlin of €20 per square meter, according to the rent index cited by the Junge Freiheit news outlet.

That's not really surprising considering what kind of people run modern-day Germany...

Men shouldn't stand to pee, but sit like Germans do, urologist says

A senior urologist claims that men should not urinate standing up but should instead sit down. Here, the Germans might have the right idea.

By WALLA! HEALTH Published: JUNE 4, 2023 13:39

This might sound embarrassing for many of you, but according to a senior British urologist, the correct way to pee isn't by standing, but by sitting on the toilet.

That's what urological surgeon Gerald Collins of the Alexandra Hospital in Cheshire, England, said in an interview with the Uk paper The Telegraph, following a YouGov poll on male urination habits.

The poll surveyed over 7,000 men from 13 different countries around the world. Unsurprisingly, most of them said they stay standing up while relieving themselves and emptying their bladders.

But there were some cultural differences uncovered in the poll. Most notably, 40% of German men said they exclusively peed while sitting down, compared to just 10% of American men.

Do German men pee better?

And according to Collins, the Germans are correct.

"Sitting is probably the most efficient way of doing it," Collins told The Telegraph. This is because while sitting, the pelvic muscles and spine relax, which makes peeing easier and helps you fully empty the bladder.
(...)
For example, 35% of American men over the age of 55 said they never sat down to pee, compared to just 21% of 18- to 24 year olds.

This perception also exists in Germany, where a derogatory slur exists for those who sit down to pee: Sitzpinkler.

However, the culture in Germany is shifting. In fact, there are now initiatives to place warnings in public toilets to prevent men from standing while peeing. According to The Telegraph, one such initiative is the voice of former German chancellor Angela Merkel criticizing would-be standing urinators whenever they lift the toilet seat in some public toilets.

Germany's coalition agrees changes to green heating law after dispute

By Holger Hansen and Riham Alkousaa
June 13, 20238:20 PM GMT+2

BERLIN, June 13 (Reuters) - Germany's ruling coalition on Tuesday agreed changes to a bill on phasing out oil and gas heating systems after weeks of wrangling that raised doubts whether coalition could survive until the end of its term.

The coalition is led by the Social Democrats (SPD), supported by the pro-business FDP and the Greens.

The FDP had criticised the draft law drawn up by the Greens-led economy ministry aiming to promote a faster switch to climate-friendly heating systems from 2024, saying it was too costly and complicated.

Germany issues update on tank ‘repair hub’ for Ukraine

The deal to service Leopard 2s in Poland will be finalized before the NATO summit next month, Berlin’s envoy to Warsaw has said

Germany and Poland are nearing an agreement to establish a “repair hub” for Leopard battle tanks damaged in Ukraine, Berlin’s ambassador to Warsaw, Thomas Bagger, told Bloomberg on Tuesday. The diplomat voiced hope that a deal to set up the facility in Poland would be reached before NATO leaders meet for a major summit next month.

Negotiations between the two sides will be finalized sometime “in the coming days,” ahead of the alliance meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania starting on July 11, Bagger stated. The repair center will provide parts for German-made tanks now used by Kiev, which are in short supply on the battlefield, the envoy told the outlet.

Ukraine has deployed Leopard 2s during its much-anticipated counteroffensive against Russia which was launched last week. Several tanks have already been destroyed or abandoned on the battlefield.

Giessen Eritrea festival clashes leave 26 police officers injured

German police report large-scale unrest in Giessen (file pic)
Hundreds of German police have used batons and pepper spray to quell crowds targeting an Eritrean cultural festival in the central town of Giessen.

The protesters were angry that the festival went ahead in Giessen, calling it a propaganda exercise by the authoritarian Eritrean regime.

A police statement said clashes took place for hours on Saturday, and that 26 police officers were injured.

Police arrested nearly 100 people and had to stop traffic in the town centre.

The police statement said protesters threw bottles and stones at police, damaged some vehicles and ripped down fencing around the festival venue.

They also threw stones at buses carrying participants to the festival, the statement said.

New building starts nosedive in Germany in latest sign of property stress

By Tom Sims, John O'Donnell and Emma-Victoria Farr
July 27, 2023 5:27 PM GMT+2

FRANKFURT, July 27 (Reuters) - New construction plunged in Germany during the first half of the year, data on Thursday showed, the latest sign of stress in the property market of Europe's largest economy.

New building starts were down 47% in the first six months, compared with the average of the past two years, with an even steeper 54% fall in home building, according to Bulwiengesa, a property consultant and analysis firm.

The data underscore a steep rut that dominates the nation's real-estate sector in its worst crisis in decades.

Germans should prepare for ‘tough years ahead’ due to energy transition, Green economy minister warns

The green transition coupled with rising energy prices will slow down the German economy

editor: REMIX NEWS author: MANDINER

Germany is facing several tough years due to a combination of transitioning to sustainable energy sources and the rising costs of energy, warned Germany’s Green Economic Affairs Minister Robert Habeck.

The federal minister, who has long called for a radical energy policy change, said that Germany faces “five tough years ahead” and revealed the country will have to borrow to support companies’ energy costs or lose their industry.

“Tough years of green industrial transition will put a burden on people,” Habeck said, noting that the IMF expects the German economy to shrink by 0.3 percent this year.

The German statistical office warned in May that the country was entering a recession, and some big companies are already thinking of moving out of Germany, fueling fears of a loss of industrial production.

Habeck said the situation is due to high energy prices, which he says Germany is feeling more because it was previously used to cheap Russian gas.

BERLIN, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Germany's cabinet on Wednesday agreed to earmark 57.6 billion euros ($63.2 billion) for green investments next year, up 60.2% from a 2023 target, the Finance Ministry said, as Berlin ramps up subsidies to help the country become net zero by 2045.

The lion's share of next year's Climate and Transformation Fund will go to Germany's building sector, with 18.9 billion euros for subsidies in renovations and new construction in 2024, the ministry said in a statement.

German man accused of posing as a Jew and peddling fake, antisemitism-laced Holocaust story

BY TOBY AXELROD AUGUST 7, 2023 12:58 PM

The so-called costume Jew is a phenomenon in which someone advertises a false Jewish identity and builds a career or public persona around it. It is especially pronounced in Germany. (Illustration by Mollie Suss)

BERLIN (JTA) – A retired teacher living in a tiny German island town has been promoting himself as a Jew under the mantle of an official program designed to introduce non-Jews to Jewish people and practices.

But Frank Borner is not part of the “Meet a Jew” initiative operated by the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the organization says.

In fact, there is no evidence that Borner is Jewish at all — and yet he has been offering a first-person perspective on being Jewish in Germany to audiences with few such opportunities, making comments sometimes smacking of antisemitism.

“The damage done by such charlatans to such an important project is great,” the Central Council said in a statement.

Borner appears to be another iteration of the “costume Jew” who advertises a false Jewish identity and builds a career or public persona around it. The phenomenon has long simmered in Germany, where Jewishness sometimes holds unusual fascination because of the Holocaust. It has become a public fixation this summer after a high-profile case emerged: that of Fabian Wolff, 33, a journalist who recently revealed that he is not actually Jewish after functioning for years as a Jewish frontman for left-wing Israel critics.

Unlike Wolff, Borner did not reveal himself. Instead, he was outed in the Die Welt newspaper in late July by two German journalists who attended a talk that Borner was delivering in the village of Petersdorf, on the island of Fehmarn. The journalists, Henryk Broder, who is Jewish, and Moritz Gerlach, raised concerns about inconsistencies, inaccuracies and gaps in Borner’s family story — and they noted that Borner invoked antisemitic stereotypes during his presentation.

For example, the journalists noted, Borner said his family emigrated to the United States after the war: to “New York and Hollywood, both full of Jews, firmly in Jewish hands.” According to their story, no one in the audience expressed surprise at this comment, which overlaps with antisemitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power.

Germany purchases dozens of decommissioned Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine

Rheinmetall will refurbish 30 of the 49 tanks for use in Ukraine

German defense contractor Rheinmetall has bought 49 second-hand Leopard-1 tanks from a Belgian arms dealer for use in Ukraine, a company spokesman said last week.

A spokesman for the German government said the tanks would be part of a military aid package announced by Defense Minister Oscar Pistorius at last month’s NATO summit in Lithuania. Freddy Versluys, CEO of the private defense company OIP Land Systems, announced the sale of the tanks on Tuesday, telling several media outlets that they were bought by an unnamed European state for an undisclosed price. The Belgian government had negotiated with Versluys earlier this year to buy the Leopards, but ultimately refused to pay the €500,000 per tank that was being asked for.

At the time, Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder described the asking price as unreasonable, given that Versluys had bought the tanks as scrap metal. Versluys bought the tanks for €37,000 each when the Belgian government decommissioned them in 2014. Speaking to The Guardian newspaper earlier this year, he said the ageing vehicles were in poor condition and needed new engines, shock absorbers, fire control systems, radar stations, and the list goes on.

Berlin to soften spending rules for 100 bln euro military fund - sources

Reuters
August 21, 2023 3:04 PM GMT+2

BERLIN, Aug 21 (Reuters) - The German government plans to water down the rules on how a 100 billion euro ($109 billion) special fund originally set up to finance major military purchases can be spent, several sources told Reuters on Monday.

Berlin aims to change the law so that the money can also be used to pay for maintenance, which is seen as a running cost, and infrastructure as long as it is connected with military purchases, the sources said, echoing a report by the FAZ newspaper.

Such a change may represent a setback for efforts to bring the German military back up to standard after decades of neglect as money goes on running costs rather than on major modernization projects.

The fund was established in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine to finance major defence projects such as the purchase of new fighter jets to bring the military back up to standard after decades of neglect.
