Default Danish European patriot Rasmus Paludan

Turkish Govt’s Anger as Qur’an Burnt in Protest Outside Embassy in Stockholm

The Turkish government has responded with outrage after anti-Islamisation campaigner Rasmus Paludan went ahead with his planned Qur’an burning protest in Stockholm on Saturday.

The burning of the Qur’an outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on Saturday afternoon, one of dozens of such protests performed in European countries in recent years by strict anti-Islamisation campaigner Rasmus Paludan, went ahead on Saturday in the face of warnings by the Turkish government to Sweden that the event should be banned. A large police presence looked on as the book was set alight and eventually dropped to the ground.

As well as Paludan having been physically attacked for his protests in the past, there was also a counter-protest of pro-Erdogan Turks present, Reuters reported.

The Turkish government, which under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has drifted from being one of the most successfully secularised post-Islamic states in the world to having a de-facto Islamist stance, had warned the Swedish government in grave tones about the importance of banning the protest from taking place. Sweden is presently applying to join the NATO defence alliance, and Turkey as a member has the power to veto their acceptance.

News that the burning of the Qur’an had gone ahead in Sweden were met with counter-protests in Istanbul, with a group of around 200 gathering outside the Swedish embassy to shout slogans, make the now-familiar one-fingered salute, and burn the Swedish flag, so reports Reuters. The Turkish government said: “We condemn in the strongest possible terms the vile attack on our holy book … Permitting this anti-Islam act, which targets Muslims and insults our sacred values, under the guise of freedom of expression is completely unacceptable.”

The issue of the book burning is particularly focussed on the Swedish government by Turkey because Paludan, who points to the often violent response to his Qur’an burnings — and even ‘Qur’an throwings‘ — as evidence of his claim that Muslims can be intolerant and incompatible with Western values, applied to the Swedish government for permission to undertake the protest. This, in Ankara’s view, gave Stockholm a chance to block the protest which they chose not to take.

The demonstration came nearly a year after Paludan and his group Stram Kurs (Hard Line) carried out a series of other Qur’an burning protests across Sweden over Easter, which led to extensive rioting in multiple cities and attacks on police by outraged Muslims.

A report released earlier this month claimed that Swedish police lacked both the manpower and the competency to deal with the riots, which saw hundreds of officers injured and many officers reporting mental health issues after being deployed to deal with the rioting.

Some officials later testified during a trial for one of the individuals who participated in the violence that they feared they were going to be killed during the riots.

Relations between Turkey and Sweden are already low, after months of considerable demands from Ankara for Stockholm to deport critics of Erdogan and alleged Terrorists to Turkey in return for the country accepting their bid to join NATO. There have been protests specifically on this issue. In early January, an effigy of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was hung outside Stockholm city hall.

While Turkish officials demanded an investigation into the incident, Swedish prosecutors stated that no crime had been committed and no investigation would take place.

Europe needs REAL LEADERSHIP.
Not another flabby socialist like Ursula Von Der Leyen, or another foreign opportunist like Rishi Sunak, or another twisted banker-perv like Macron... but real leadership... Edward Longshanks, Charles Martel, Bismarck... someone with the foresight and guts to say "ENOUGH ALREADY!" and get rid of the troublemakers.
No more of this 'turn the other cheek' nonsense; it is madness to be compassionate to monsters. KICK THEM OUT -- the muslims do not deserve any consideration at all.

Article: "We condemn in the strongest possible terms the vile attack on our holy book …"

Meanwhile, these marauders from all these Mideast countries have no problem violating Europea children, and attacking European institutions.
Where was the Turkish government in all of that? The Syrian, Afghan, Algerian governments... where were they?
So... NO SYMPATHY for them. If they want to keep their 'holy book', stay in the Mideast.

Default Danish far-right leader Paludan jailed for racism

Danish far-right leader Paludan jailed for racism
25 June 2020.

Rasmus Paludan, head of Denmark's far-right Stram Kurs (Hard Line) party, has been given a month in jail for a string of offences including racism. He was convicted of posting anti-Islam videos on his party's social media channels. Paludan was given a suspended jail term for racism in 2019 and the court heard that influenced the latest verdict. He will appeal against his sentence, which includes a two-month suspended jail term.

He faced 14 charges, including racism, defamation and dangerous driving. Paludan, 38, was disbarred for three years as a criminal lawyer and banned from driving for a year.

Stram Kurs won 1.8% of the vote in national elections in 2019, falling just short of the 2% threshold needed to enter parliament. It ran on a platform of banning Islam and deporting all of Denmark's Muslims.
Paludan has himself led demonstrations that involve burning the Koran in areas with ethnic minority communities.

In videos posted online Paludan made derogatory comments about Muslims, but argued he had not made the videos himself. He has also insisted he was upholding Denmark's tradition of free speech. The court found him guilty of defaming a woman of Somali origin at a demonstration by insinuating she was a prostitute, Danish media report.

He was not in court in the town of Naestved to hear the verdict.

That's actually a good point. And even though I don't normally support these "counter-jihadist" clowns, I think that Rasmus Paludan did us all a favor here since his recent Koran-burning stunt in Sweden is causing problems for the despicable, jew-controlled North Atlantic Terrorist Organization (NATO).

Default The police and PET must explain themselves. Why can't Paludan be protected on Bornholm?

When the people's Assembly begins today in Allinge, it is in the sign of war and crises. This is at a time when democracy is returning to many places in the world, and when Danmark is also facing crucial elections. Folkemødet is a vital renewal of Danish democracy, a festival for the people's government that has become an institution and a fixed focal point in the political debate. A place where opinions can be peacefully refracted in some of the most beautiful settings the kingdom can offer.

It is all the more sad that the police on Bornholm have given Rasmus Paludan an order not to show up for his and others ' safety. The specific safety considerations behind the decision are not known. It is obvious that the threat against Rasmus Paludan has increased compared to last year, but nevertheless the decision seems very violent.

Default Denmark Bans Quran-Burner Rasmus Paludan From Major Political Festival Yesterday

A Muslim protest in Copenhagen, Denmark - Sputnik International, 1920, 14.06.2023

Rasmus Paludan rose to notoriety when he torched a pile of Islam's holy book, the Quran, ostensibly in celebration of and to protect free speech. Not only has this resulted in his needing costly police protection, but has also sparked international rows, among other things jeopardizing Sweden's NATO bid.

Danish authorities have banned controversial politician Rasmus Paludan, infamous for his Quran-burning antics, from attending a major political festival on the island of Bornholm for security reasons. Local police authorities on Tuesday imposed a ban on Paludan from Allinge village and its environs - including local waters - which is where the Folkemodet festival takes place, from the morning of 14 June to midday on 18 June, on the grounds that his appearance would represent a risk both to himself and others.

Over the years, the divisive chairman of the ethno-nationalist Hard Line Party has usually been protected by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (DSIS). However, this time the DSIS washed its hands of the radical politician, specifically informing the Bornholm police that maintaining personal protection would be impossible.

Paludan said that the restriction put him in a dangerous position. "The police are forcing me to hold the debate in a place which makes it most dangerous for me, but which is at a safe distance from the mink killer," Paludan told Danish media, most probably referring to Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic ordered the culling of 15 million farmed mink.

Nevertheless, he pledged to appear at the festival, despite the ban. "I will follow the instructions and stay outside the prohibited zone. It will probably be the case that I will be left unprotected, so that any terrorist can shoot me," he added.

A Dilemma Between Security and Free Speech

Former DSIS operational chief Hans Jorgen Bonnichsen argued that the Paludan case represented a "terrible dilemma", because of the authority's duty to protect people, regardless of what statements they make. He also described failure to do so as "in principle, a capitulation".

Frederik Waage, a professor of constitutional law at the University of Southern Denmark, said the ban from Folkemodet was "absolutely extraordinary", as Denmark hasn't witnessed anything like this before. Waage also argued that the case raises fundamental questions about the protection of freedom of expression and where to draw the line.

Who is Rasmus Paludan?

Paludan, leader of the fringe Hard Line Party, which seeks to ban Islam and non-European immigration, rose to notoriety by torching a number of copies of Islam's centerpiece, the Quran, ostensibly to protect free speech. However, this causes tempers to run high, as his demonstrations often take place in immigrant-dense suburban areas or near mosques and have led to massive riots and destruction. In 2019, he ran for parliament, with his party just missing the 2% threshold. In the years that followed, threats against Paludan increased in strength and seriousness (particularly when he appeared on Al-Qaeda's* death list), and he has since enjoyed protection from the intelligence service's bodyguards at demonstrations and other events, which has set the Danish state coffers back more than DKK 100Mln (nearly $15Mln).

Earlier this year, Paludan, who also has a Swedish passport, made international headlines by burning a copy of the Quran outside the premises of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm, ostensibly in a bid to give President Recep Erdogan a "lesson in free speech" in connection with Sweden's stalled NATO bid. Though immediately condemned by Swedish leaders and other European nations, his inflammatory demonstrations prompted Turkiye's wrath and seriously crippled Stockholm's possible NATO membership.

Default Everyone should have the right to insult Islam

No religion, idea, prophet or god should be protected from ridicule.

It might soon be illegal in Denmark to make fun of Islam. Seriously. In response to a spate of Koran burnings – in both Denmark and its neighbour, Sweden – the Danish foreign ministry has issued an extraordinary statement. A statement that should chill the blood of all who believe in free speech. The state might soon have to start intervening, it said, in situations where ‘other countries, cultures and religions are being insulted’. In short, a Dane’s right to mock all nations, gods, prophets and ideas might have to be sacrificed at the altar of protecting people’s feelings. This represents a deadly blow to freedom of expression.

The foreign ministry’s statement comes in the wake of numerous acts of Koran desecration in the Nordic countries. Both right-wing agitators and ex-Muslims have been setting copies of the Koran aflame. The most recent ‘blasphemous’ strike took place outside the Swedish parliament in Stockholm on Monday, in the pouring rain, where an Iraqi refugee and his friend trampled on a copy of the Koran and then ripped out some pages and set them on fire. They did the same outside Stockholm’s largest mosque in June. In Denmark last week, two far-right activists destroyed copies of the Koran outside the Turkish and Egyptian embassies in Copenhagen. Putting a match to Islam’s holy book has become quite the fad in certain Nordic circles.

And the leaders of Sweden and Denmark are panicking. They’ve received a wave of hate from Muslim countries. Turkey is threatening to stall Sweden’s entry into NATO until it shows ‘respect to [Muslims’] religious beliefs’. Muslim leaders have damned the Swedes and Danes for their profanity. Their embassies have been stormed in Iraq. Feeling the heat – no pun intended – Denmark is essentially offering to appease this Islamist fury by making it a crime to insult Islam’s sacred text. It is hard to think of anything more craven than a democratic nation restricting the rights of its own citizens to placate the wrath of foreign tyrants.

Strikingly, the Danes are not only looking into how to ‘stop protests involving the burning of holy texts’. No, it is ridicule of ‘countries, cultures and religions’ more broadly that they’re promising to police. Especially if the ridicule could have ‘negative consequences for Denmark, not least with regard to security’. Think about what is being said here. If an individual threatens to make an extreme or fiery comment about a nation or a faith that could prove awkward for the Danish government, then that individual might have to be silenced. Sweden says it shares ‘the same analysis’.

Denmark and Sweden are allowing themselves to be held hostage by Islamist leaders. Indeed, the Swedish PM’s comments about the ‘dangerous situation’ created by Koran burnings followed hot on the heels of a furious statement from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The OIC, which represents 48 Muslim-majority countries, slammed the recent Koran burnings as ‘despicable acts of aggression’ and demanded that the UN intervene. Sanctions against Sweden, perhaps? A peacekeeping force deployed to Copenhagen to protect the Koran from Danes’ grubby hands?

It will be a dark day for freedom in Europe if Sweden and Denmark restrict their citizens’ free expression in order to protect the feelings of Islamists. This would elevate the Muslim world’s emotions over Danes’ and Swedes’ freedom. Worse, it would give the Muslim world a veto over speech in parts of Europe. Islamic leaders would feel emboldened to threaten any nation that permitted its citizens to engage in ‘blasphemous’ speech, whether the threat took the form of exclusion from NATO, a telling-off from the UN or mob gatherings in the streets.

The Koran-burning controversy actually handed Denmark and Sweden a great opportunity to signal to the world, and their own people, that they will defend freedom in the face of any external menace. But they fluffed it. Instead they have advertised the flimsiness of their belief in liberty; their willingness to subjugate their own citizens’ fundamental rights of expression, dissent and, yes, blasphemy to the jealous demands of offended foreign leaders.

In a way, Denmark and Sweden, if they act on their promise to ‘do something’ about intense insults against Islam, will only be codifying the attitude of the entire modern West. Woke appeasement of Islamocensorship has been around for years. The very idea of ‘Islamophobia’ sends the message that criticism of Islam is a kind of malady, a sick bigotry. People in the UK have lost their jobs for mocking Islam. People in France have been taken to court. A British schoolteacher was hounded into hiding for supposedly ‘blaspheming’ against Muhammad. A schoolteacher in France was beheaded for that ‘crime’. And of course we all live in the shadow of that gravest assault on liberty and Enlightenment: the massacre at Charlie Hebdo.

No religion, idea, prophet or god should be protected from ridicule.

For Denmark and Sweden to even consider restricting mockery of Islam in such a moment is disgraceful. Not only are they threatening to sacrifice their own constitutional commitment to free speech – they are also inflaming the expectation of Islamists that any speech that offends them will be crushed, or else.

Criticism of religion should never be punished. Not even burnings of the Koran. I never like to see a book on fire, be it the Koran, The Satanic Verses, Harry Potter or whatever. Book-burning, we know from history, is never a good thing. But the right to burn books is one we must defend. Destroying a book can be an act of expression as much as writing a book is. I find the idea of a government trampling on the speech rights of its citizens far more offensive than protesters trampling on a copy of the Koran. It’s the bonfire of the liberties, not the occasional burning of a religious text, that should horrify us.

Everyone should have the right to insult Islam 05 VIII 2023.

These Muslims, mostly from the Middle East, come to Europe intending to conquer it and rather than integrate want us to convert to their Medieval ideology.
