Metal had long since died in England and been replaced by Thrash Metal. I didn't like it.
Dawn, I think the Golden Earring can be placed more in the Hard Rock category.

Metal is a completely different kind, you either love it or hate it.

The most famous metal band from Holland is Sad Iron, founded in 1979, and still active albeit with a different line-up.

Tracklist:
1. Demon's Night 04:49
2. Prisoners 03:53
3. We All Praise the Devil 09:06
4. Rock 'N Roll Rendez-vous 03:19
5. Hellfighter 05:42
6. Total Damnation 06:46
7. Three Crown Saws 04:01

Default Soft style music in the 80"s

"You're in the Army Now" is a song by the South African-born Dutch duo Bolland & Bolland, released in 1981.

A cover by British rock band Status Quo, simplified as "In the Army Now", was internationally successful in 1986.

Also this brothers writes the song "rock my Amadeus" (1985) for Falco.

So two Dutch brothers, maybe Afrikaans guys, wrote those hit songs. Interesting, thanks.

Astonishing.

Was Jeanny 80's? Ah yes, it was.

A German friend used to play and explain to us the Jeanny songs, again, most of us only knew "Amadeus".

I dread to think how much European music we missed!

Here you have them together with the Austrian band Opus, who became famous with "Live is life" (1985).

Gladianix, you keep polluting threads, over and over, without making any positive contribution to the forum (I'm done with it)!!!

Another interesting little fact the Father of Francis Rossi from Status Quo was a huge donator to the early National Front

"Satellite" is a song by American rock band The Hooters, which was released in 1987 as the second single from their third studio album One Way Home.

"Satellite" takes a satirical look at Televangelism.
